My Practice

I provide assessment, treatment, consultation and clinical supervision services to individuals, caregivers and clinicians in the areas of: general mental health, parenting/caregiving, communication, and relationships.  In addition to in-office sessions I provide online video communication through secure mediums when appropriate for those not in the Guelph area or unable to attend regular office appointments.

I practice from an emotion-focused,  client-centred,  Health At Every Size (HAES) and trauma-informed perspective.  I use a framework which emphasizes: the client as a collaborator in therapy and goal-setting; everyone is doing the best they can; individuals can be healthy at a variety of weights, shapes and sizes; and different types of trauma impact therapeutic communication and require me to practice in a way that creates an environment of respect and safety.

My practice is inclusive of all ages, races, gender, sexual identity and orientation.  Social justice and the understanding of how society creates and maintains emotional avoidance, eating disorders and mental health struggles can also be an important part of healing and recovery.
