Fall 2023 Monthly EFFT Consultation Group Supervision 

 

Monthly 2-hour supervision container for clinicians to receive support and feedback on treatment plans,


implementing EFFT interventions and addressing challenges in treatment and clinician blocks



Cost: $125
 
Sept 6, Oct 4, Nov 1 & Dec 6 1-3pm EST

Group is capped at 6 participants and can count towards EFFT Therapist Certification hours with the

Process of Emotional Self-Exploration Supervision Group 


Two-hour supervision container on using a 7 minute scripted tool to help clients identify and work

with triggers.  Includes a case example of a client who participated in the 
process every day for 30 days


 
Learning Objectives

  • Discuss the rationale for the Process of Emotional Self-Exploration
 
  • Identify common human error in introducing and implementing the practice with clients/as a self-

supervision intervention
 
  • Discuss strategies for enhancing the effectiveness of self-directed client learning after engaging in the

process and addressing common challenges in implementation
 
 
Participants will gain experiential practice in the process and a case review of a client who participated in the

process daily for 30 days.

Supervision Group 
 

Resistance to Caregiver Involvement Supervision Container
 
 
Two 3-hour supervision containers on working with resistance to caregiver involvement across the life span.
 
 
This supervision container will look at the rationale  for caregiver involvement, explore underlying drivers of

resistance to caregiver involvement and introduce interventions for clinicians to clarify and work through such

impasses in a way that honor’s the client’s capacity to make treatment decisions.

 
Although family-oriented therapies and parental involvement are increasingly regarded as best practice in the

treatment of mental health issues, some teens/young adults refuse to invite their parents or alternate

caregivers into their treatment.  This presentation will explore underlying drivers of resistance to caregiver

involvement and introduce interventions for clinicians to clarify and work through such impasses in a way that

honor’s the client’s capacity to make treatment decisions.


Learning Objectives

●      Discuss the rationale for caregiver involvement

●      Identify common reasons for client refusal/resistance to parent/caregiver involvement
 
●      Discuss strategies for working with refusals using an Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT) approach

●      Discuss strategies for addressing clinician resistance related to parental involvement

 
In container 1 participants will gain experiential practice in emotion coaching resistance to caregiver

involvement

In container 2 participants will get a review of the resistance to caregiver involvement chair work script and

view a video demonstration

Case conceptualization supervision group 

 
Two-hour supervision container on how to utilize the EFFT case conceptualization tool when working with

families, Participants will be provided a brief overview of the EFFT model, an in-depth review of the case

conceptualization tool and discussion of how to implement the tool to target/enhance caregiver efforts and

increase skills using an actual case.

 
Learning Objectives

●      Brief review of Nuts and Bolts of EFFT
 
●      In-depth review of the case conceptualization tool
 
●      Discussion of how to implement the tool to target caregiver efforts and increase skills

Relationship Dimensions and Caregiver Traps Scale Supervision Group



2 hour supervision container using the Relationship Dimension Scale and Caregiver Traps Scale in clinical

practice.

Learning Objectives


●      Review of the tools and rationale for the Relationship Dimensions Scale and Caregiver Traps Scale
 
●      How to assess client responses and practical implementation ideas/considerations 

●      Discuss strategies for working with both tools in a clinical setting
 
●      Discuss strategies for addressing common clinician challenges in implementation

 
 
Participants will gain experiential practice in working with both scales and a case review of how the tools were

implemented and used both in session and as self-directed learning outside of session with 2 caregivers.
